Myriad conference set for March
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, January 27, 2008
San Diego — Retail technology supplier Myriad Software has scheduled its annual user conference March 9–12 and says the event will address how the economy has brought challenges to the furniture industry and the need to refocus for the coming year and beyond.
The keynote speaker will be Ray Allegrezza, editor in chief of Furniture/Today, who will address where the industry is headed in 2008 and beyond.
Julie Smith, editor of Furniture Style, will discuss the magazine's most recent consumer survey. Chart Learning Solutions' Lorna Riley, back for a third appearance at Myriad's annual event, will present information about Internet-based customer service and sales programs. And Liz Goodgold, creator of the Duh! Marketing Awards e-letter about advertising mistakes and lessons to be learned, will speak on branding.
This year's conference will include a Sunday evening welcoming reception, a Monday dinner in San Diego's Tree Top restaurant and a Tuesday awards banquet with entertainment.
Myriad President Carolyn Crowley said the company has added to its regular conference menu.
"We'll have conference workshops highlighting our new products or enhancements, outside speakers offering new ideas on running your business and hands-on workshops where Myriad instructors will guide conference-goers along the keyboard step-by-step in order to answer product questions or receive hands-on procedures using best business practices," said Crowley.
