Bruce Huggins joins furniture source New Classic
Will fill new post, VP of product development

FONTANA, Calif. — Case goods and occasional producer New Classic has named Bruce Huggins vice president of product development, a new position.
This post was created to meet the needs of New Classic as it expands capacity and moves into different product categories, according to the company. Though bedroom remains a key category, over the past year New Classic has begun diversifying into other segments, including entertainment, occasional, upholstery and dining room.
"We are ready to move forward with our plans to expand into other categories in a much bigger way, while still growing and strengthening our core master and youth bedroom collections," said President Jean Tong. "Bruce's addition is key to those plans, and he completes a great team that will lead us into the future."
Huggins has more than 35 years in the furniture industry, on both the retail and manufacturing sides. After stints with retailers RB Furniture and Leather Expo, Huggins spent five years in merchandising with manufacturer Douglas Furniture. Most recently, Huggins headed up product development for importer Coaster Co.
At New Classic, Huggins will be responsible for coordinating all product development.
