HILDEBRAN, N.C. —
Marves Inds., a Mexican producer of non-woven textile cushioning and insulator pads for the mattress industry, will open its first U.S. factory here this year.
The facility will create 66 manufacturing jobs, the company announced.
Marves will use a building formerly occupied by Bauer Inds., a Canadian company that produced carpet padding and soundproofing equipment.
According to a statement from North Carolina Gov. Bev Purdue, Marves will invest $1.75 million in the facility. The company also received a $200,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund, which is used to attract businesses and create jobs.
“North Carolina offers the ideal strategic location to cover 50% percent of the potential market that Marves Industries is interested in pursuing,” said Elias Gomez, general manager of the company. “The availability of the building, equipment and trained labor in Hildebran weighed heavily in the decision.”
