Schumacher promotes North to VP post

Susan North has been promoted to vice president/creative director at fabric and wallcovering supplier Schumacher.
North joined the company in 1997 as director of design for Greeff, one of Schumacher's fabric and wallcovering lines. She was named vice president, design, Interior Design Group, in 2002, where she was responsible for directing the design staff for Schumacher, Greeff and Decorators Walk, and overseeing the development of fabrics and wallcovering for each brand.
She was named vice president, design, for Schumacher in April 2007 when the brands were consolidated.
In her new role, North will continue to direct the design staff and oversee creative aspects of the Schumacher fabric, wallcovering and furnishing design in addition to new product developments for the Schumacher brand.
She also will be responsible for the creative direction of the brand, including visual merchandising. In addition, North will work with the company's marketing and sales teams.
