FR standard cited in recall
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, January 25, 2010
WASHINGTON —
Mattress World of Dallas is recalling 750 low-end, renovated sleep sets because they fail to meet the government's fire resistance standards.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the voluntary recall, saying the mattress sets pose a fire hazard to consumers. It said that no injuries have been reported.
The recall involves Mattress World renovated twin, full, queen and king mattress sets sold in blue floral, white floral and taupe floral designs. The prototype ID on the mattress tags for the recalled sets reads MWQ or MWFOBXQ. The sets were produced from May 29 through Sept. 4 of last year, CPSC said.
It said the sets were sold at various furniture stores in Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas for between $35 and $105.
Consumers with the recalled sets should contact Mattress World to receive a refund. The company can be contacted at mattressworld@live.com.
