LAS VEGAS —
Ashley Furniture HomeStores licensee Michael Jedlowski will add a third store in this city by the end of the year, the Las Vegas Sun reports.
Jedlowski told the paper he has acquired a former Levitz Furniture building near U.S. 95 and Martin Luther King Boulevard near downtown Las Vegas. The 102,000-square-foot building includes a warehouse that he is using to service his two other stores in the area, the Sun said.
He did not disclose what he paid for the building. Levitz was liquidated in bankruptcy proceedings in 2008.
Jedlowski said the renovation of the store will cost about $1.5 million. He plans to open a showroom of about 72,000 square feet in the second half of this year.
This will be the 15th Ashley store for Jedlowski, who also operates units in Reno, Nev., Phoenix and Salt Lake City. He said sales fell 5% in 2009 as the economy sagged, but he expects 2010 sales to grow 15% to 20%, not including the new store.
