Pittsburgh, Pa. — Contemporary furniture specialist PerLora has launched a new 2,500-square-foot Metropolitan Home collection within its 12,000-square-foot flagship store.
Grand opening events for the line raised money for Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
The Metropolitan Home collection, produced by Shermag and designed by Benjamin Noriega-Ortiz, includes bedroom, dining room, living room and accent pieces crafted from exotic veneers, acrylic and a wide range of fabrics and leathers. The collection was introduced to consumers in September 2007 in Chicago, and numerous regional events are scheduled to debut the collection throughout the U.S. and Canada in early 2008.
Noriega-Ortiz appears regularly on HGTV, Style, Fine Living Network and E!. Simon and Schuster published his first book of design, "Emotional Rooms: The Sensual Interiors of Benjamin Noriega-Ortiz" in 2007. His website is located at www.BNOdesign.com.
Started in 1994, PerLora is co-owned by Perry and Lora Sigesmund. A second showroom location, PerLora Leather, opened in 1998, specializes in contemporary leather upholstered goods.
Shermag is headquartered in Sherbrooke, Quebec, and is a distributor of high-quality residential furniture, employing more than 1,200 people.
