Cosec opens site to free postings

TULSA, Okla. —
Advertising and sales training company Cosec International has converted the former pay-to-advertise SalesinAmerica.com Web site into a free service for companies wanting to post their promotions.
The site, launched in mid-2008, allows consumers to type in their ZIP codes and see what local sales are going on in categories that include furniture as well as clothing, tires, electronics, groceries and other products. Under the early plan, retailers could upload their ads to the site for $1.18 a day.
Scott Hood, Cosec International president, said the Web site offers retail and service businesses an opportunity to upload full-page print ads, coupons, and special offers as well as direct links to YouTube advertisements. The site platform, driven by a ZIP code search for a sale or program, “makes it easy for the shopping public to locate a local business that is hosting a sale or making a special offer on a product or a service,” Hood added.
He said the site is easy for companies to use, requiring only a few steps to sign up as a vendor and upload an advertisement or offer.
“Above all, it does what it is designed to do, to help businesses find customers, and now it's all free,” he said.
