Natura hosting panel discussion
By David Perry -- Furniture Today, February 1, 2010
LAS VEGAS —
Natural bedding producer Natura is hosting a panel discussion here on the importance of transparency — clear, open communication — in the mattress industry.
The session will follow a 4 p.m. cocktail reception held Monday, Feb. 1 in Natura's World Market Center showroom, A-950. Representatives of the International Sleep Products Assn., the Specialty Sleep Assn., Cargill and two retailers will serve on the panel.
Ralph Rossdeutscher, Natura's president, will lead the discussion. He said that Natura believes that accessibility of information is more than a trend — it's good business, too.
“Many companies market to the green consumer but it's a struggle to measure product to product,” said Julia Rosien, Natura's communications director. “We have eight pounds of wool in every queen-size organic mattress we make. Who else gives out information like that to help consumers comparison shop?”
At the panel, attendees will learn how Natura is pushing the boundaries of an industry “struggling with communicating transparency,” the company said. They also will meet industry leaders who are committing to making information accessible and understandable to consumers, according to Natura.
The session is open to anyone interested in the issue of transparency. Natura has invited all of its Facebook fans (more than 1,000) to the event.
