TUPELO, Miss. —
Closeout retailer Big Lots and a veteran sales representative for importer Largo International took home the key awards from the January Tupelo Furniture Market.
Columbus, Ohio-based Big Lots, which has more than 1,300 stores in 47 states, was given the market's Buyer Appreciation Award, while Largo's Gary Jansson picked up the Manufacturer's Rep Award.
Furniture and accessories buyers Cynthia Hughes and Robert Strenski accepted the award on behalf of Big Lots. Strenski said the company has shopped the Tupelo market regularly for more than a decade, and picks out the bulk of its upholstery lineup at the twice-yearly show.
