BodyMatch technology determines Sleep iD

LAS VEGAS —
Comfort Solutions' new Sleep iD line is backed with a diagnostic system designed to help shoppers find the bed that's best for their needs.
The company will unveil the system here as part of a broad assortment of new lines and revamped and expanded best sellers — all designed to give retailers more options in today's tough, competitive environment, company officials said.
Comfort Solutions said its new BodyMatch technology will enable consumers to select their ideal Sleep iD mattress. They will do so by navigating a computer-assisted, touch-screen system that they will find intuitive and easy to use, officials said.
The evaluation system uses a scientific approach to capture body height, weight and shape, and determines pressure points and support needs. That information is then combined with data entered by the shopper such as sleep position preferences and desired mattress preferences. Shoppers also can detail pain issues or comfort concerns they may have.
BodyMatch correlates the shopper's data to its own extensive database and closely matches the consumer's body type to a specific bed type. Two Sleep iD models are recommended for comfort trial.
The customer can specify a sleep system in which the entire mattress will be customized for her, or in which each side will have different custom feels, the company said.
“The objective of the Sleep iD system is to deliver minimal pressure and maximum support to every body type, which is what comfort is all about,” said Owen Shoemaker, senior vice president of product and marketing. “Shoppers get an individual sleep solution that delivers their proper posture alignment, their ideal support factors and a comfort balance for their pressure points.”
