Spring Air relaunching Nature's Rest latex brand

LAS VEGAS —
Spring Air International is relaunching its Nature's Rest latex brand here and also is offering a new innerspring line featuring a proprietary multi-level encased coil unit.
The producer is taking the unusual step of showing those new lines on an invitation-only basis in a showroom draped for privacy. The company's “Spring Air Innovation” space is in World Market Center B-1125, across from the company's regular showroom, B-1126, which will also be open.
Spring Air first used the adjacent showroom last market. Company officials said the draped showroom isn't a PR stunt.
“This isn't a hollow move to foster curiosity or generate excitement for its own sake,” asserted Rick Robinson, president of Spring Air. “It's about creating a unique environment for retailers who are seriously interested in our innovations and our vision of the future.”
The new innerspring line, Sleep Sense, uses a patent-pending design that employs various heights of the encased coils at key body points to deliver overall support that is superior to any other spring unit, Robinson said.
Premium upholstery materials are inserted into the units to help the beds conform to the natural curve of the body. The layers include natural latex, gel, a high-density memory foam or a plant-based Surface Modified Technology foam. Those layers are designed to “interlock” with the encased coil units to reduce pressure at the shoulders and hips, while providing lower back support, the company says.
“The challenge in developing the Sleep Sense line was in knowing that true spinal alignment is achieved when the curves of the back are properly supported,” Robinson said. “Too soft of a sleep surface forces the body out of its natural alignment and lacks support; too firm of a surface results in areas of high pressure to the shoulders and hips. The solution was to develop a product that adds both supportive firmness for your lumbar and back, while delivering pressure relief to your shoulders and hips.”
The line, which is expected to retail from $1,000 to $2,000, includes a sustainable wood foundation certified by Canada's Forest Stewardship Council.
Featured quilt materials include high-quality foams, Joma wool and cotton-blend fabrics interwoven with silver, which is antibacterial and dust mite resistant, Robinson said.
The new Nature's Rest line retails from $1,299 to $2,999. The six-model line comprises two collections of three beds, each with different core designs.
The Progeny Collection features a 4.5-pound high natural content latex core, while the NatureZone Collection uses a thick, high-density core of plant-based foam. Both collections incorporate Spring Air's exclusive three-inch BodyCurve topper, made of a fused layer of latex and plant-based foam. That topper delivers better spinal support, the company said.
“The founding philosophy behind Nature's Rest was to design the best latex bed … period,” Robinson said. “We now have a far more expansive view of what's needed to rebuild Nature's Rest in today's market to meet today's needs.”
Spring Air is using Nature's Rest's original tagline, “The Earth's Best Resource for Sleep.” The line is positioned as eco-friendly and emphasizing superior performance and designed to “make a physiological difference in your sleep.”
The line also will be supported with a Nature's Rest branded line of sleep accessories, including specialty pillows and bed toppers made with natural feathers, premium white goose down, latex, and latex-and-feather combinations. The line is also backed with a dedicated Web site at www.naturesrest.com.
