LAS VEGAS —
Bedding's Top 10 producers are rolling out plenty of new offerings to give business a boost in the new year. New flagship innerspring lines and key new specialty lines abound.
Industry sales leader Sealy is introducing a new specialty sleep line called Embody by Sealy. That line offers both latex and memory foam beds under the same brand to simplify the selling proposition, the company says. Sealy touts the line as offering clean, healthy materials. Retails range from $1,699 to $2,799.
Also new from Sealy are eight Sealy Posturepedic 60th Anniversary models with upgraded features, retailing from $799 to $1,299. And new promotional Sealy-brand beds retail from $299 to $699.
A completely redesigned Beautyrest line, the company's flagship offering, awaits buyers at Simmons.
The line offers individually encased Beautyrest Pocketed Coil springs featuring new BeautyPlush, BeautyFirm and BeautyLuxeFirm comfort choices for superior motion separation, conformability, support and durability, the producer says. New BeautyStyle luxury fabrics and aesthetics provide enhanced visual performance while new construction designs offer BeautyFeel comfort, according to Simmons.
Serta is rolling out a new Perfect Day collection and also debuts its Smart Support collection
The producer introduced its premium Perfect Day collection in 2005 with an array of comfort and support features designed to address the most common sleeping problems. The new version of the collection boasts even more advanced features and has been designed to offer unprecedented value at premium price points, the company said. The Perfect Day collection also features exclusive fabrics. Retails range from $1,599 to $2,999.
The company's new Smart Support collection features what Serta is calling “a revolutionary polymer technology that intelligently senses when to remain firm and when to release comfortably.”
In addition, Serta will be revealing details of an exclusive licensing partnership with one of the nation's leading children's entertainment brands to produce a new collection of kids' mattresses.
Memory foam leader Tempur-Pedic is showing its complete Tempur-Cloud line of beds, which provide a softer feel than other Tempur-Pedic models. It also will be spotlighting its support for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
Comfort Solutions is introducing a new “personalized comfort” collection called Sleep Identity. The new Sleep iD models will feature a choice of foam, visco or latex comfort layers over a premium, foam-encased, individually wrapped coil unit. Aimed at providing optional comfort alternatives for dual sleepers, the line will be available in firm or plush versions and is expected to retail between $899 and $1,999.
A new comfort assessment technology system designed to facilitate the consumer's choice, decision and purchase of Sleep iD beds will be presented in conjunction with this new specialized comfort line. And the company also will present a new King Koil program that targets value shoppers but offers high-end features, compelling aesthetics and proprietary technology, including an exclusive Verticoil foam-encased spring unit, the company said. Retails will range from $399 to $799.
International Bedding is re-launching what that producer calls a “revitalized” version of its eco-friendly Origins line of specialty sleep beds made of memory foam and Talalay latex foam. The new line emphasizes strong values and retail margins at prices ranging from $799 to $2,499, the company said.
“These beds offer a phenomenal value at every level,” commented Eric Johnson, senior vice president of merchandising and marketing at IB.
Kingsdown, showing in the Veronese Ballroom at the Venetian, is expanding its Sleep to Live line. “Sleep to Live is taking the mattress selection process to a newlevel,” said Chris Henning, president of North America sales. “Sleep to Live is introducing a new, more personalized interactive diagnostic system with three display options offering different footprints that will fit any retail environment.”
Therapedic is unveiling its newest product line, Therawrap, an encased coil offering. Retails start at $699.
“We wanted a product line that would hit certain velocity price points, yet would provide a true encased coil feel,” said Gerry Borreggine, CEO of Therapedic. “Nothing offers the true encased coil feel like a border-to-border construction.”
He said the line targets key retail price points. “We are an alternative brand and a value producer,” Borreggine noted. “We wanted to give retailers a line that was centered where the action is at retail today. We've done that with Therawrap.”
