Bob Hodgson retires as Standard chairman

BAY MINETTE, Ala. — Longtime Standard Furniture Chairman Bob Hodgson is retiring and family member Billy Hodgson is filling his position.
Bob Hodgson began with Standard when the case goods company was founded 62 years ago. The manufacturer and importer is best known for its Kathy Ireland Home by Standard line.
Billy Hodgson, who has been president and CEO, takes over as chairman. Mike Peters, who has been chief financial officer, becomes president and CEO. Both men have been with the company for 29 years.
Kerry Nickerson has been promoted to chief financial officer. She had been vice president of finance, corporate secretary and treasurer.
In a statement, Standard said, “We thank Bob Hodgson for his hard work and his passion for the company and its employees. He has been and will continue to be an inspiration to the industry as a whole.”
