Preliminary antidumping rates assigned for 2006 shipments
Final rates due in mid-June
Thomas Russell -- Furniture Today, February 13, 2008
WASHINGTON — U.S. Department of Commerce officials have released the preliminary antidumping duty rates for the second administrative review of Chinese wood bedroom producers.
The review covers wood bedroom furniture shipments made during 2006.
Individual rates were assigned to Chinese factories that the U.S. petitioners supporting the antidumping case said warranted further review beyond the initial investigation in 2004. In addition, some Chinese factories offered themselves for review in hopes of getting their duties lowered.
The DOC is allowing interested parties to submit written comments about the preliminary rates within 30 days of their Feb. 13 publication in the Federal Register. Interested parties also may request a hearing on the preliminary results within those 30 days.
Final results are expected to be released in mid-June. That ultimately will determine what companies pay for goods shipped in 2006.
