Weekends Only Furniture adds to Dionne Dumitru's duties

She's now also responsible for business development

ST. LOUIS — Weekends Only Furniture has added strategic business development to Dionne Dumitru's current responsibilities as chief operating officer.

She will be responsible for implementing lean process improvement projects and developing online infrastructure such as e-commerce capabilities.

Dumitru joined Weekends Only in 2003 as director of information technology. In 2005 she was promoted to COO and has led the retail business, product distribution and IT department.

"This promotion recognizes Dionne's unmatched leadership and expertise in her field," Tom Phillips, the St. Louis-based retailer's CEO, said in a press release.
"Weekends Only will continue to look to Dionne for her invaluable insight on strategic initiatives that align with the company's mission and values as we expand into markets outside of the St. Louis area."
