High Point premarket gaining steam
24 companies team up to sponsor event

HIGH POINT — Once on the decline, High Point’s premarket is rebounding with nine new sponsors for the next event, set for March 3-4.
Brian Casey, president and CEO of the High Point Market Authority, met with some key manufacturers and building owners last spring and began planning for a renewed premarket with financial support for hotel rooms for many retailers.
Last summer, 16 companies sponsored premarket Aug. 20-21. Fifteen are doing so again and are joined by nine new sponsors this time.
Returning manufacturers are: Bernhardt, Hammary, Hooker, Kincaid, Legacy Classic, Magnussen Home, Riverside, Stanley, Universal, Vaughan-Bassett, Wynwood, Pulaski and SLF, and American Drew and Lea Inds.
The nine additions are: Aspenhome, Broyhill, Casana/Palliser, Davis International, Hekman, IdeaItalia, Natuzzi and Rowe.
At the previous premarket, a number of other exhibitors also opened their doors for retailers. For March, the only company to announce plans to be open so far is Whitewood Inds./John Thomas.
Others who plan to be open during premarket March 3-4 can send a notice to Jeff Linville, case goods writer, at jlinville@reedbusiness.com to be included in updates in Furniture/Today and on furnituretoday.com.
