CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Innovision Retail, owned by former Klaussner executive Jeff Davis, has opened a short-term furniture store here and plans to run similar special sales this year in other temporary spaces.
Furniture Liquidators of America will operate seven days a week on Smith Corners Boulevard through the end of March. A new location will be determined later, according to a release.
Davis is president of Asheboro, N.C.-based Innovision Retail, which previously owned the Greensboro, N.C., Klaussnerhome Furnishings store. That store is now owned by Klaussner, the Asheboro-based manufacturer and importer.
Furniture Liquidators is a new Innovision concept and will offer "products that include closeouts, overstocks, as well as a limited assortment of best-selling products," during limited time events, the company said.
Davis said that as a result of the "Great Recession" of 2008 and 2009, shopping has changed, with consumers "seeking trusted product at an appreciable value more than ever, which is what Furniture Liquidators of America is all about."
Innovision is planning as many at 10 "pop-up" events in the Southeast under the Furniture Liquidators of America banner, Furniture Market Roadshow and Furniturethon brands. The next FLA will open in April. An exact location has yet to be determined, but it most likely will be in Charlotte, the company said.
It's also opening two permanent stores called Groovy Scavenger in Charlotte and Greensboro, N.C., the release said. The Charlotte store is expected to open in May where the current FLA is located and with Thursday-through-Sunday hours
Davis couldn't be reach for more information. The Furniture Liquidators Web site at www.flofamerica.com says it offers savings of "50% off and more" on goods from Klaussner, Stein World, World Imports, Spring Air and others.
