New Albany, Miss. — Ty Hester, previously head of sales and marketing for Caye Home Furnishings, has been named president of the upholstery and case goods resource and will head day-to-day operations in the United States and Canada.
He succeeds his father, Herb Hester, previously president and CEO. Herb Hester becomes CEO only and will focus on strategic issues including the further development of global business initiatives.

Caye owner and Chairman Karl Leo said Ty Hester is "eminently qualified" for his new position, with 23 years of experience in the industry. Leo added that Ty Hester has comprehensive knowledge of the retail community, and "his awareness of current retail and merchandise needs has been a key factor in Caye's growth to date."
In other changes, Wayne Stewart will remain as chief financial officer and will have the additional responsibility of executive vice president. Tom Walthen will be promoted to executive vice president of manufacturing and operations.
Caye operates factories here and in Amory, Miss., and has two factories in Haining City, China.
