HIGH POINT — American Dream Rooms, the U.S. marketing and distribution arm of Shanghai-based case goods manufacturer Dream Rooms, has named Bob O’Neill senior vice president of sales.
For the past two years, he has been vice president and national sales manager at case goods importer Acme Furniture. Before that, he was president and owner of Southern Textiles, which he and his son, Rob, sold to Leggett & Platt about four years ago.
Bob O’Neill reports to American Dream Rooms President Joe Elmore and will oversee the company’s sales and its team of representatives, which has grown from seven to 38 since last month’s Las Vegas Market. He also will help develop the company’s e-commerce and mass merchant business.
O’Neill said he is sad to leave Acme but is excited about the opportunity at American Dream Rooms.
“We think the business model of factory direct (from Asia) is the way to go,” he said. “We think that is the future, particularly for larger accounts.”
The company also has hired Rob O’Neill as national sales manager. He had been vice president and regional manager of Acme Furniture’s Atlanta branch, and earlier was executive vice president at Southern Textiles.
American Dream Rooms also has named Ken Debiak project manager for catalogs and e-commerce sales. He most recently worked in merchandising at manufacturer Linon Home Décor Products, where he spent nine years.
