Ashley reps raise money to help furnish new Ronald McDonald house in Philly

Philadelphia — Ashley Furniture marketing specialists have raised money to help furnish a new Ronald McDonald House on the campus of St. Christopher's Hospital for Children here. The house provides lodging for families of children undergoing hospital treatment.
The Ashley reps filled the entry foyer and recreation room of the home, providing furniture that retails for $8,000.
Banner Advertising, which produces Ashley's circulars, donated $1 per thousand circulars that the reps sold to their accounts in Philadelphia. Ashley Furniture matched the amount. Retailer Jerusalem Furniture donated money and delivered the goods, and several other retailers donated money.
The reps had planned to donate additional money to finish the job, but Ashley Chairman Ron Wanek stepped up with a donation to cover the remaining costs.
The 27,000-square-foot facility house welcomed its first 25 families in early January.
