MANCHESTER, Conn. — Bob's Discount Furniture opened its 36th store in Nesconset, N.Y., last week, one of five it says it will open this year.Bob's said the new location brings 46 jobs to the community. Last year, the retailer opened its first stores in New York in Yonkers, Poughkeepsie and Carle Place.
"It is with much anticipated excitement that we kick off the 2010 year with our 36th new store in Nesconset," said Bob Kaufman, president of the Top 100 company. "The entire Bob's team looks forward to offering a new community our commitment to quality furniture at everyday low prices plus our commitment to helping the people in it through Bob's Outreach Program."
Through that program, the retailer donated $5,000 to enhance senior citizen programs in the Nesconset-area community.
The retailer, which has stores in New England, New Jersey and New York, earlier this year announced plans to expand into the Mid-Atlantic states in 2011.
