Bullock heads manufacturing at Stanley
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, February 24, 2008
Stanleytown, Va. — Stanley Furniture has hired Steve Bullock to lead the company's domestic manufacturing operations at three locations.
As senior vice president of operations, Bullock will supervise manufacturing for both company divisions — Stanley Collections and Young America — and will oversee purchasing and product engineering. He reports to Jeff Scheffer, chairman, president and CEO.
"Steve's extensive manufacturing knowledge and collaborative leadership style will be valuable assets to Stanley Furniture Company," Scheffer said. "As we move forward, he will implement manufacturing processes that result in better quality, lower costs and improved customer service."
Bullock has 16 years of management experience, including extensive lean manufacturing leadership, most recently as vice president of operations for Geiger International, a subsidiary of contract furniture source Herman Miller.
Earlier, he was a regional senior vice president of operations for Herman Miller, managing six plants.
He replaces Rick Lovorn, who announced he was leaving Stanley in October, one week after the company said it would close a plant in Martinsville, Va., and move production to its facilities here.
