Marks Plier
Itasca, Ill. — David Plier has been named a partner in the full-service advertising and interactive marketing firm Marks Plier Creative Marketing Group, formally known as Marks & Whetstone.
Plier has been CEO of the 30-year-old agency, which has a number of furniture industry clients, since 2005. He is now also president and partner.
"David is the right leader for the future of our business," said Bernard Marks, the company's founder and chairman. "This move recognizes his strong management experience, entrepreneurial energy as well as his industry leadership in retail marketing. His expertise in visual merchandising and graphics will continue to benefit our current and future clients — and Marks Plier as we continue to grow."
Marks Plier also has promoted Linda Weber to vice president, client services and hired Brian Champion as account manager.

Rizzy Rugs
Calhoun, Ga. — Roger Stringer has been named western sales manager for Rizzy Rugs and its sister division, HomeTexco. He will report to Mark Ferullo, vice president of sales and marketing.
Stringer has worked in the industry for more than 20 years. Former positions include western regional manager and vice president of western regional sales with rug supplier Sphinx by Oriental Weavers. Earlier, he worked in buying for Couristan and management for Seattle-based department stores including The Bon Marche and Frederick & Nelson.
Rizzy Rugs and HomeTexco manufacture and import rugs, bedding, textiles, linens, pillows and throws. Many of the products complement and coordinate with each other.
Ultrafabrics
Elmsford, N.Y. — High-end polyurethane products manufacturer Ultrafabrics has promoted Paul Wyckoff to vice president of sales. He is responsible for the contract, residential and casual furniture markets.
"Paul has been a key part of our success, and we are thrilled to promote him to this important position," said Clay Rosenberg, CEO.
Wyckoff joined Ultrafabrics in 2003 as a national sales manager.
Prior to that, he was a partner in charge of sales for fabric distributor Maharam.
