New Texas factory will expand Natura's reach

CAMBRIDGE, Ontario —
Natural bedding producer Natura is planning to buy a big factory in Texas to boost its U.S. distribution.
The Canadian company said it will purchase a 478,000-square-foot factory in Wichita Falls, Texas, which will enable Natura to reduce delivery times and increase its sales to U.S. customers.
“Opening up another factory will give us much-needed room for expansion,” said Ralph Rossdeutscher, Natura's president. “Our penetration into the U.S. market has moved at a rapid pace over the last year and this factory will increase our ability to meet our retailers' needs quickly and efficiently.”
Bedding veteran Jim Van Lear will be plant manager. He has worked at Simmons, Serta and Spring Air.
In recent months Natura has acquired NexGel, a U.S. bedding company, and has broadened beyond its latex and memory foam lines to include innerspring mattresses. The company has hired a number of executives to manage U.S. sales.
“For 15 years, we've grown consistently with a tight focus on our mission statement — to help our customers achieve a superior night's sleep,” Rossdeutscher said. “With each step we've made this past year, we continue toward that goal. We would like to thank the state of Texas and the city of Wichita Falls for their hard work and diligence in assisting with this venture.”
