Singapore — The head of the group that helped organize the annual International Furniture Fair Singapore/ASEAN Furniture Show has left the organization to pursue other interests.
Quek Chin Tuan was CEO of IFFS Pte Ltd., which was formed in 2005 as a subsidiary of the Singapore Furniture Inds. Council. He was previously director of the SFIC's Fairs Division, which also had a role in promoting and organizing the event. Quek was not available for comment.
Show officials expressed their gratitude for his services to the show and the SFIC.
"On behalf of IFFS Pte Ltd. and SFIC, we wish to place on record our appreciation to Mr. Quek for his dedication and commendable contributions over the last five-plus years," SFIC Executive Director Shermaine Ong said in a statement. "In particular, he had contributed significantly towards the growth and development of the International Furniture Fair Singapore/ASEAN Furniture Show."
Ong will temporarily assume Quek's responsibilities until a new person is named to the position.
The next IFFS/AFS event takes place March 9–12 at the Singapore Expo.
