Ante4Autism raises over $7,000
By David Perry -- Furniture Today, February 15, 2010
LAS VEGAS —
The second Annual Ante4Autism event, held here during the recent Las Vegas Market, raised more than $7,000 for autism research, treatment and advocacy, its organizers said.
The event was co-hosted by David Wachendorfer of Tempur-Pedic; Phil Miner of Symbol Mattress; Jerry Williams and Scott Graham of PMD Furniture Direct, Columbus, Ohio; Joe Amato of Mattress Matters, Cleveland; Randy Coconis of Coconis Furniture, Zanesville, Ohio; Stuart Carlitz of Eclipse and Eastman House; and Doug Krinsky of Restonic.
“We had more players than our inaugural event last fall and we were very pleased with the turnout,” Krinsky said. Scott Graham, vice president of operations and general merchandise manager of PMD Furniture Direct, was the champion this year and donated his winnings to Autism Speaks, as did other top finishers. Charles Cadrecha finished second and Krinsky was third.
Leggett and Platt, Wachendorfer of Tempur-Pedic, Williams of PMD and Bob Quinn of Restonic provided corporate support or donations of prizes for the raffle drawing.
The hosts thanked R & A Marketing, Marv Beneteau at RMG, The Lively Group and Binion's for their help and support of the event.
Additional donations may be made by visiting www.ramarketing.com/ante4autism, or checks can be made out to Autism Speaks and mailed to Doug Krinsky, 5405 Blackhawk Forest Drive, Westerville, Ohio, 43082.
“There is hope with new treatments, therapies and the research that is being done right now that some day in the near future we can find the cause of autism, and prevent it,” said Krinsky. “The prevalence of autism is now 1 in 110 births and we need to do more research to stop this epidemic from continuing to rise. We thank everyone for their support and hope to see everyone again next year.”
