High Point — Representatives of the National Home Furnishings Assn. and HGTV will host a series of seminars and webinars to acquaint retailers with the $20-million consumer education and awareness program the two organizations will launch this summer.
Called the Preferred Retailer program and developed for the home furnishings industry by the NHFA-HGTV partnership, the effort aims to build consumer confidence in purchasing furniture, to grow retailer credibility with the consumer, and to increase sales for participating retailers.
Four seminars during the April High Point Market will provide retailers with details of the program and how they can participate. They'll take place Monday and Tuesday, April 7 and 8, with two sessions each day, from 7:30 to 9 a.m. and from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., in International Ballroom B, Green Wing, 11th floor, of the International Home Furnishings Center. Complete program packages will be provided for each meeting participant.
HGTV also will host the presentation as a one-hour webinar each Tuesday and Thursday through April 3. Webinar times are 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
To reserve space for both the seminars and webinars, e-mail hgtv@nhfa.org or call (800) 888-9590, extension 0.
