Magnussen Home to produce Crayola youth bedroom line

HIGH POINT — Case goods importer Magnussen Home said it has entered into a multi-year licensing agreement with children's crayon and art products specialist Crayola for a youth bedroom line expected to launch in October.
The company said in a press release that the line will be designed to reflect Crayola's brand positioning through products that foster children's creativity. Pieces will offer functional elements that allow children to create and display artwork. They also will have storage for art supplies.
Examples of Crayola colors will be included in beds and accent pieces and the line also will include hardware options that feature Crayola products.
"Crayola is always looking to innovate and help children express creativity in all areas of their life," said Warren Schorr, vice president of brand licensing for Crayola. "We are pleased to partner with Magnussen, whose commitment to quality construction and design makes them an ideal partner for the launch of youth furniture."
Two planned groups appealing to girls and boys will include twin and full-sized beds, dresser, mirror, nightstand and chests. They also include a media chest, a student desk, chair and hutch.
Twin beds are targeted to retail from $299 to $399, while dressers are targeted to retail from $399 to $599. The groups will be shipped on mixed containers along with master and youth bedroom and casual dining sets available through the company's QuickFlex 250 program.
Magnussen President Nathan Cressman said the partnership with Crayola is a great fit for the company.
"The Crayola brand focuses on creativity, innovation and quality, which are the same key focuses for Magnussen that have contributed to our success," he said. "With Crayola's strong brand recognition with consumers, we feel that this partnership will extend the reach with consumers in the youth bedroom category and help to continue to grow Magnussen's youth furniture business."
