ST. LOUIS —
Furniture Brands International has extended the contract of Chairman and CEO Ralph Scozzafava by three years, the manufacturer and importer said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The new three-year employment agreement takes effect July 1. It will replace an agreement dated June 2007.
Furniture Brands also said it will reimburse Scozzafava for up to $20,000 in attorney's fees in connection with the amended agreement.
In 2008, Scozzafava received total compensation of $4.8 million, according to the company's proxy statement.
