Eaton-Young runs several high-impact events a year

Cumberland, Md. — George Young, an independent retailer who owns Eaton-Young Furniture Galleries here, makes the most of his position as the largest furniture retailer in his market, running high-impact sales several times a year.
Last Labor Day, Young ran his holiday sale from Thursday through Tuesday. He credits sales specialist Cosec International's high-impact newspaper and radio ads with doubling his normal business.
"Cosec does the production and the announcer is from Oklahoma. When that voice comes over the radio it gets everyone's attention. It's a very different sound and cadence from what we hear around here," said Young.
"That difference, plus the message, which also directs listeners to the newspaper ads, and a fabulous group of salespeople who really know their craft — all those factors combine to make this type of event a spectacular success."
