Retailer Gary Trudell wins Leggett & Platt drawing
Contest focused on company's ‘Energized Performance'

WHITTIER, Calif. — Leggett & Platt Consumer Products Group has awarded a weekend getaway to the winner of a Las Vegas Market contest.The prize went to Gary Trudell, owner of Custom Comfort Mattress Co. in Anaheim, Calif., who won a drawing that was based on a survey he took at the show relating to L&P's "Energized Performance," the company's theme at market.
Leggett showed in a redesigned Las Vegas space focusing on innovative retail solutions and new home furnishings styles. The company showed how stores can appeal to customers through the five senses and also through customizable merchandising and marketing programs that appeal to the emotions.
"Custom Comfort is a 25-year customer of Leggett & Platt," said Rob Woods, president of Consumer Products Group, which offers metal beds and related sleep products. "It was a pleasure to draw the name of a representative from Custom Comfort - a company that has been a strong customer since they opened their first store."
Trudell's store offers a full line of Leggett & Platt products and also uses the company's bedding components and Hanes fasteners in its mattress construction.
"We definitely noticed the changes in the Leggett & Platt showroom - there really was a great buzz there," he said.
He and his wife, Jennifer, will receive a getaway at a yet-to-be announced location for a weekend of their choosing.
