By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, March 2, 2008

Steve McCracken, former president and CEO of Invista, the onetime DuPont textile business that was sold to Koch Inds., has died of stomach cancer. He was 54.

McCracken most recently was chairman and CEO of glass and plastic container manufacturer Owens-Illinois, until his health forced him to leave.

He headed Invista from April 2003 to January 2004. Earlier, he was president of the Lycra Worldwide business for five years, when it was part of the DuPont Textiles & Interiors division.

He is survived by his wife, three daughters, a son, his mother and a sister.
