Lane promotes 3, creates supply chain role

By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, March 3, 2008

Lane Furniture has promoted Donnie Lesley from assistant merchandise manager for wood products to merchandise manager of wood products.

The company also has promoted Danny McClellan to vice president of cost control and inventory management and Rod Whitlock to plant manager of the Saltillo, Miss., upholstery plant. In addition, Lane has created a new role for Ken Hamill to more accurately describe his expanding duties.

Lesley reports to Ray Allori, vice president of wood merchandising and advertising, and fills a position open since Jim DeRose left the company last summer.

Lesley began his career with Lane in 2002 working on the wood procurement team before his promotion to assistant merchandise manager in 2006. His primary responsibility will be for the occasional table, entertainment and cedar chest categories, and he will continue to be involved in case goods product development.

Whitlock most recently was corporate services manager. He joined Lane in 1993 as an engineer and has filled several key roles over the years.

McClellan began with Lane in 1979 as an accountant and has served in several positions, most recently as vice president of manufacturing. Among his duties will be managing inventories and costs.

Whitlock and McClellan report to Jackie Hooker, executive vice president of operations. Hooker, who oversees manufacturing, will assume many of McClellan's previous duties.

Hammill has been named supply chain manager for the wood division. He joined Lane in 1999 as a credit manager and became procurement manager for the wood division in 2002. In addition to those duties, he also handles other procurement duties as well as managing demand planning, inventories, and coordinating the Logility program. He reports to Joe Eames, director of wood manufacturing and supply chain.
