NAPLES, Fla. - Retailer Clive Daniel Home has named Kris Kolar vice president of merchandising and design.
Kolar had joined the company after it was founded here last year by the former leaders of Robb & Stucky.
She had been vice president of interior design at Robb & Stucky, and previously held executive and design positions at department stores including Woodward & Lothrop, John Wanamaker and Federated.
"As the leaders of Robb & Stucky for three decades, our resources included a vast field of top notch professionals around the country," said Clive Daniel President and CEO Dan Lubner. "Kris Kolar, who served as our vice president of interior design for 15 years and led our award-winning interior design team to national recognition, was our first and only choice for this expanded new position."
Clive Daniel Home opened its first 85,000-square-foot home furnishings showroom in Naples, Fla., in November.
ATLANTA - Douglas Broward has been appointed to the newly created office of AMC senior vice president/branding, according to a press release from Americasmart. The company said it created this new position to help accelerate and expand Americasmart's growth globally.
Prior to joining Americasmart, Broward worked as chief creative officer at Grizzard Advertising, a part of the global advertising and marketing firm Omnicom Group.
In his new position, Broward is tasked with creating and sustaining Americasmart brand continuity across all shows, markets and business lines through all marketing communications channels and on-site brand presence.
"Douglas brings his creative prowess to bear on every aspect of our business," said Jeffrey L. Portman Sr., president and chief operating officer of Americasmart. "He will help lead the charge to express Americasmart in cuttingedge, harmonious ways through all internal and external expressions of our brand."
Lincolnton Furniture Co.
LINCOLNTON, N.C. - Hunter Boyd has joined the Lincolnton Furniture Co.'s board of directors, according to Bruce Cochrane , who launched the case goods manufacturer based here last year.
Boyd is vice president and a board member at oil and gas distributor Times Oil Co., which owns 20 gas stations in North Carolina and South Carolina. In his position with Times Oil, Boyd directs real estate development. He also owns a private residential and commercial real estate development company.
Other members of Lincolnton Furniture's board include Cochrane; Bruce Hric, the company's chief financial officer; and Bud Boyles, owner of Lincolnton-based retailer Carolina Furniture Mart.
IFDA New York Chapter
NEW YORK - Claudia Giselle Tejeda, owner of Claudia Giselle Design, was named president of the New York Chapter of the International Furnishings and Design Assn. for 2012, the group has announced.
Other officers include Wendy Silverstein, public relations consultant, past president; Penny Sikalis, GLM, treasurer; Jean Nayar, journalist and author, recording secretary; and Linda Kulla, Bardwil Inds., director at large.

Mantua Mfg. Co.
WALTON HILLS, Ohio - Mantua Mfg. Co. has hired Jeff Wick as vice president of sales/Eastern region, a new position.
Wick, a mattress industry veteran with wholesale and retail experience, rejoins the company to lead the regional sales team in its sales of Mantua bed frames and Rize adjustable beds. He is based in Greensboro, N.C., and reports to Neil Dwyer, executive vice president of sales and marketing.
"We are pleased to have Jeff join our Mantua executive staff at a very exciting time for Mantua," said Dwyer. "We are experiencing a great deal of growth, due in large part to the Rize adjustable bed program. Jeff's wide range of experience in the mattress industry, plus his past experience with Mantua, makes this a natural choice."
Wick was most recently the northern regional vice president of sales for International Bedding. Earlier he worked for Sealy and for May Co. Department Stores.
Therapedic International of New England
BROCKTON, Mass. - Tom DiGiovanna has been named sales executive for Therapedic International of New England, a division of Restmore Inc.
DiGiovanna has more than 22 years of experience in the bedding industry with Sealy, where he held numerous positions, most recently as senior territory manager. Prior to that, he spent 13 years as a retail buyer for Jordan Marsh in Boston and Gimbel's in New York.
"We are pleased to have Tom on the Therapedic team in New England," said Norman Rosenblatt, CEO of Restmore. "His expertise and contacts in the area will be a strong addition for us."
NORWALK, Ohio - Phil Cline has been promoted to the newly created position of Eastern regional sales manager for upholstery maker Norwalk Furniture.
Cline joins the executive team and reports to Mike Kennedy, vice president of sales and marketing.
Cline has been with Norwalk since 1980 as a sales representative and on special assignments. He previously represented Keller Mfg. and SK Products.
He has covered Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and West Virginia for Norwalk. As eastern regional sales manager, he is responsible for the eastern U.S. and Canada.
The company said Cline will concentrate on building and supporting the company's current business, expanding into new markets and directing field sales operations.
