Lazar names Luce president, CEO

LOS ANGELES —

Mid-priced upholstery manufacturer Lazar Inds. has named Robert Luce president and CEO.

He replaces Dave Sowinski, who has left the company after three years to pursue other career opportunities.

Luce was one of the original members of Lazar's senior management team, and returns after several years in the advertising and direct marketing industries.

Founders Barry Lazar and Darryl Lazar will remain as board members and will participate in the direction of the company with Luce. Lazar has two factories, one here and one in Siler City, N.C.

A company spokesman said in a news release, “We greatly appreciate Dave's contribution to the company. During his tenure, the company achieved record contract sales in 2009 and in October had its best residential market in the last five years. We wish Dave every success.”
