Last Lane Furniture dedicated store to close

TUPELO, Miss. — The last of Lane Furniture Inds.' dedicated stores is closing here at the end of next week, the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal reported.

Lane President Greg Roy confirmed that the 15,000-square-foot store will close Nov. 18 to allow the company to focus on its more than 3,000 retail partners and Lane showcase galleries in North America and Europe, the paper said.

At its peak, Lane had 29 stores and the one here was the first U.S. store to open in mid-2003.

Roy said Furniture Brands owns the property and hasn't decided what to do with it.
