Dorya Interiors to show at High Point Market
Will be Turkish furniture source's U.S. debut
Heath E. Combs -- Furniture Today, March 2, 2010
HIGH POINT — Custom high-end Turkish manufacturer Dorya Interiors is launching its first U.S. showroom in April at the High Point Market.
The showroom in the 200 Steele building, Suite 144, also will be Dorya Interiors' U.S. base, a company spokeswoman said.
The company currently has no retail presence in the United States.
It designs furniture under three collections: Heritage, Contemporain, and Executive. Dorya will add 35 new case good items and 15 new upholstery items to Contemporain in High Point.
"We strongly believe in what High Point stands for in the world of furniture and we're very excited this flagship design center will be open year round to the trade," Doruk Yorgancioglu, chief operating officer of Dorya, said in a press release.
Dorya says all its goods are produced in Turkey and all product is hand-made and made to order. The line targets high-end designers and stores.
A cocktail table in the line starts at about $5,000 retail and sofas start at about $5,000 plus the cost of fabric or customer material options.
Architectural Digest will host a launch party for the line during market on Sunday, April 18, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the 200 Steele space.
