Badcock promotes three senior executives

Price to become chief operating officer

Clint Engel -- Furniture Today, March 13, 2008

MULBERRY, Fla. — Retailer W.S. Badcock is promoting three members of its senior management team effective April 1.

Mike Price, senior vice president of merchandising, for the Top 100 company, will become chief operating officer, a new position. He will be responsible for the supply chain, administration and information technology groups as well as the legal department, and also joined the company’s board.

Chuck Sajeski will replace Price as senior vice president of merchandising, with responsibility for fine-tuning merchandising processes and improving customer and dealer services. He is also responsible for overseeing the category managers, as well as continuing to direct merchandising activities related to quality assurance and operation planning and analysis. Previously, Sajeski was Badcock’s senior vice president of supply chain.

Greg Brinkman, who has been vice president of purchasing and international logistics, was named vice president of supply chain. He will assume additional responsibilities for Badcock’s distribution centers in Florida, Georgia, Alabama and North Carolina, inbound and outbound domestic transportation and all related activities.

Badcock President and CEO Don Marks called the promotions well deserved.

“Each of these individuals has made a significant contribution to the corporation. In their new positions, they will continue to move Badcock forward in our ongoing goal to bring our customers the best in customer service and continuously provide high quality furnishings for their homes,” said Marks.

Badcock, established in 1904, has more than 300 stores throughout the Southeast, more than 75% of which are dealer-owned and operated.
