More buyers sign up for High Point Premarket
Event set for March 15-16

HIGH POINT — More buyers have signed up for this month's High Point Premarket than for any such event since Premarket was re-launched about three years ago, according to the High Point Market Authority.
As of Tuesday, 161 buyers from 70 companies have registered for the March 15-16 event, officials said.
"The response we have received from retailers this season is energizing for all of the companies involved in the Premarket movement," Kevin O'Connor, a sponsor and CEO of Samson Marketing, parent company of furniture sources Legacy Classic and Universal, said in a press release.
Premarket is held about a month before each High Point Market and aims to give retailers a chance to preview major product collections, secure distribution and strengthen relationships with key vendors and company principals, according to the Market Authority.
A number of exhibitors are sponsoring Premarket. In addition, the sponsors also include three showroom operators - 220 Elm, the International Home Furnishings Center and Merchandise Mart Properties - that have tenants participating in Premarket. Sponsors provide funds for meals, lodging and ground transportation for buyers.
