Progressive moving to Sauder showroom

Consolidation will be convenient for buyers, company says

Jeff Linville -- Furniture Today, March 14, 2008

HIGH POINT — Sauder will show all of its products under one roof for the first time at next month’s High Point Market as Progressive joins its sister companies in the 220 Elm, space 218 showroom.

Progressive, Sauder’s assembled case goods division, had been showing in Plaza Suites on the third floor but needed less space after shutting down its Royal Patina line. The company had acquired Royal Patina in 2005 to add a higher-end look, but phased it out last year.

Progressive will share the 220 Elm showroom with Sauder’s domestic and imported ready-to-assemble collections and the Gruga office chair line.

“This move will offer buyers the ease and convenience of viewing our complete range of products in one place,” said Kevin Sauder, president and CEO of parent company Sauder Woodworking. “We’re excited at the opportunity to display our entire family of dynamic solutions, which offer a wide spectrum of designs, price points and materials.”

Dan Kendrick, Progressive president, said, “We look forward to being more accessible to dealers than ever before.” He said he expects the location will draw additional traffic for all the divisions.

Progressive will offer several new case goods groups, including product that fills a demand for functional second bedroom furniture. Good for guest rooms, beach houses and small apartments, this “non-master-suite” furniture is available in three coordinating colors: white, black and red.

The collections also offer queen and king beds for larger spaces, plus under-bed storage units. Pieces also include two dressers, night table, media chest and laptop desk, with retail prices expected to range from $99 to $399.

Progressive also will introduce three promotional groups in traditional, country and transitional styles designed to mix with existing collections, with no restrictions on purchase quantities. The groups are priced to retail at $999.

Sauder will unveil a host of RTA designs, including a variety of laptop and home office solutions and home entertainment furnishings that meet the needs of today’s fast-changing technologies.
