HIGH POINT — Sofitalia International, the leather upholstery division of Lacquercraft, has hired Lance Foster as its general manager.Foster has 18 years experience in the furniture industry, primarily with Berkline/BenchCraft in a variety of sales, marketing and managerial posts involving domestic and imported upholstery.
"We are very fortunate to have someone of Lance's background join our company and head up the new U.S. operations," said Lacquercraft President Mohamad Amini. "He is a high-energy guy with the kind of background and upholstery knowledge to help us launch and grow this new venture."
Foster, who reports to Amini, is assuming the duties formerly held by Peter Halunen, who left the company in January.
Sofitalia, which was launched at October's High Point Market, offers a full line of leather upholstery featuring sofas retailing for $899 to $1,499. The line is produced at Lacquercraft's factory in Jiashan, China.
For the April High Point Market, the company is moving to a new showroom on the club level of Plaza Suites. The space is adjacent to the showroom of Sofitalia's sister company, Legacy Classic.
