High Point — Midwest retailers Morris Furniture and Great Lakes Home Furnishings, along with longtime sales rep Thomas Schuckert and retired International Home Furnishings Center CEO Bruce Miller, will be honored next month at the 14th Annual Furniture Industry Awards Gala here.
Morris, based in Fairborn, Ohio, and Great Lakes, based in Holland, Mich., are the National Home Furnishings Assn.'s 2008 Retailers of the Year.
The International Home Furnishings Representatives Assn. will present Schuckert with its highest honor, the Harold P. Braun Distinguished Service Award. IHFRA also will salute Miller as a Pillar of the Industry.
This year's gala is set for Tuesday evening, April 8, during the High Point Market.
Morris, with 10 stores in southwestern Ohio and northern Kentucky and a clearance center in Fairborn, is the Retailer of the Year among stores with annual sales of more than $10 million. Owner Larry Klaben will accept the award for his company.
