TIANJIN, China — Dining, occasional and entertainment producer Well Power International Corp. broke ground this week on a larger factory here that the manufacturer plans to have completed by summer. ![]() An artist’s rendering shows a 600,000-square-foot factory that dining, occasional and entertainment producer Well Power International Corp. has started building in Tianjin, China. |
The new factory will be over 600,000 square feet, said Joe Zeiser, vice president of merchandising.
Well Power will own the land and the building, he said. The factory will have capacity to produce 400 containers a month.
Well Power's former 200,000-square-foot factory will be gradually phased out after this year, Zeiser said.
The new factory will produce dining, casual dining, occasional and entertainment furniture, he said. Currently the company focuses on mixed-media items with many pieces using its Innovastone material. The new factory will allow it to produce more wood furniture items, Zeiser said.
He said the company decided to open the larger facility because it was getting more orders than the previous factory could handle. The new plant also will reduce manufacturing costs, streamline layout and has a state-of-the-art assembly system, he said.
"We will be able to serve major customers around the world with much higher capacity," Zeiser said.
