FIT Event Marks 15 Years of Home
Carol Trader Barton -- Furniture Today, April 7, 2011
NEW YORK - In celebration of the 15th anniversary of its Home Products Development program, the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) on Monday is hosting a reception titled "15 Years of Home," where it will honor longtime industry veteran Barry Leonard.
The event is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. March 14 at BLU at the Hotel Indigo, 127 W. 28th St.
Leonard, the event's honoree, is the ceo and president of Welspun USA Inc. He will be presented with the Distinguished Leadership Award by Peter G. Scotese, chairman emeritus of FIT's board of trustees.
This evening reception replaces the program's traditional breakfast, but not the event's goal - "to honor industry leaders and raise funds to support student learning experiences and for the Home Fashion Products Association (HFPA)," FIT noted.
The 15 Years of Home reception will be co-sponsored by Revman International Inc. and Leonard, and the event will be co-hosted by FIT and HFPA.
Tickets are $1,000 per person. For more information, contact The Educational Foundation for the Fashion Industries at (212) 217-4100, by fax at (212) 594-9206 or online at fitnyc.edu/homeproducts15.
