Bakersfield, Calif. — Furniture, appliances and electronics retailer Urner's, based here, has selected the Connie Post Cos. to redesign its store inside and out.
The project, now in the design phase, aims to enhance the store's architectural features through trim, moldings, color andother residential design elements applied for commercial use.
Steve Illingworth, president of Urner's, said he decided to engage the Huntington, W.Va.-based Connie Post design team after visiting stores the firm has worked with, including Miskelly's Furniture in Jackson, Miss., Cardi's Furniture in South Kingstown, R.I., and Slumber World in Honolulu.
Illingworth said his primary goal is to capture significant market share.
"We can't do that without having the most exciting showroom in our market," he said. "This project will make that goal much more realistic."
