Design Within Reach opens in Toronto

San Francisco — Design Within Reach extended its grasp outside the United States for the first time with a store in Toronto that opened in February, the San Francisco-based retailer said.
The 4,700-square-foot store offers products including outdoor furniture, bedroom and workspace designs, seating, lighting, rugs and other modern items for the home or office.
"DWR built a successful national design presence based on the founding principle of making design within reach. Expanding beyond the U.S. will further our vision of accessible design solutions," said the company's CEO, Ray Brunner. "Strong demand from Canadian residents and international tourists for well-designed products made Toronto the logical choice for DWR's first international location."
The Toronto store is at 435 King Street West. As part of a grand opening celebration, the store will contribute 10% of sales March 13–19 to the local Design Exchange museum.
As one of the largest DWR stores, it features a broad assortment of the retailer's product.
Design Within Reach also said that this month, the company's first store off mainland North America will open in Honolulu.
Launched in 1998, the company has about 67 stores in metro areas including New York, Miami, Chicago, Seattle, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
