CITE DE SOLEIL, Haiti —
Three representatives of memory foam mattress maker Anatomic Global's WorldBed initiative wrapped up a visit to earthquake-stricken Haiti on Sunday after delivering mattresses to newly homeless residents.
The trip is part of an effort by Anatomic Global to deliver 200,000 of the WorldBeds, a cot-sized, three-inch foam mattress, to Haiti over the next year.
Patrick Johnson, Laura Castro and Veronica Alif from Anatomic visited places including a tent community in this city and a hospital, meeting with people who are helping the Haitians recover and rebuild.
Johnson is executive director of Anatomic Global's WorldBed initiative, which is producing the mattresses for Haiti. Suppliers including FXI Foamex Innovations, Deslee Textiles USA, Royal Packaging and Brookwood Cos., along with humanitarian organization Parakletos International, are supporting the effort.
