FORT SMITH, Ark. — Riverside Furniture has promoted 21-year company veteran Fred Henjes to president. He has been senior vice president of sales and marketing for two years, and has filled a number of other roles, including sales representative.

Howard "Buddy" Spradlin, the longtime president and majority owner of the case goods and occasional producer and importer, is stepping aside after 46 years with the company to take a less active role in daily management. He remains CEO.

In addition to serving as president, Henjes will retain his direct sales responsibilities. His territory includes Maryland, Washington, D.C., northeast West Virginia, Delaware, Virginia, eastern Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey.

"We are very proud of and excited about the management team that Fred has assembled to help grow our business," said Spradlin.

He said recent promotions and appointments include Greg Adams, senior vice president, operations and administration; Beth Brown, vice president and chief financial officer; Mike Charlton, senior vice president, product development, merchandising and advertising; Glenn Felterman, senior vice president, sales and product management; Bernie Holly, senior vice president, supply chain and logistics; and Chad Silver, vice president and national sales manager.

"This outstanding group of individuals has played key roles in helping Riverside transition from its U.S. manufacturing base to sourcing most of the current merchandise lineup from overseas," Spradlin said. "They all have served Riverside for a number of years and, in addition, some have experience in the home furnishings industry in both retail and manufacturing."

Riverside offers an array of merchandise at medium price points in the entertainment, home office, occasional, bedroom and casual dining categories.

It shows at the High Point Market in the International Home Furnishings Center, C-302, and at the Las Vegas Market in the World Market Center, B-1175. It is showing there today and Tuesday during the High Point Premarket.
