GuildMaster honoring best retail displays

By Heath E. Combs -- Furniture Today, March 15, 2010

Steve Crowder, CEO of accent and occasional furniture source GuildMaster, is off on another tour of stores this year to highlight outstanding retail displays.

The displays will be recognized as part of the company's new Show Your Stuff contest. GuildMaster on Tour Facebook fans will vote for their favorite retail displays posted on the page Feb. 22 through March 28.

Ten retailers will be chosen as winners based on voting by fans March 15-28.

The awards for each winning display include a $1,000 donation made to the retailer's favorite charity, 500 trees planted in their honor and $1,000 in GuildMaster bucks for additional products.

Two additional displays will receive honorable mention as designer's choice and editor's choice selections.

GuildMaster promises to donate a total of $10,000 to charity and plant 5,000 mahogany trees. The company already has planted thousands of trees in Indonesia through a one-for-one replacement for trees used.

“In honor of our company's pledge to the sustainability of our natural resources, we've been planting trees for several years now,” said Crowder. “To us, it's a long-term commitment and this year we'll do more in honor of the Show Your Stuff winners.”

Last spring, Crowder visited retailers in 32 states in two months on a 15,150-mile trek with the High Point Market as his finishing line. He met with more than 150 retailers carrying GuildMaster products.
